When something goes wrong, AIUS asks whether to send a report to the AIUS team. Nothing is sent unless you choose Send report.

In the terminal

After an error message, AIUS asks once: Send report, Add a note, Show report or Don’t send.
  • Show report shows the whole text that would be sent.
  • Several errors close together become one question.
  • After you answer, AIUS waits a few minutes before asking again.
To report something yourself at any time, open the command palette and choose Report a problem, or type /report. Describe what you were doing and what you expected. If AIUS itself stops, the crash screen offers the same choice: press s twice to send, or c to copy the report first.

In the web app

After an error, a panel in the corner asks the same question. You can add a note and open Show report before sending. Report a problem in the navigation opens it at any time. When the server fails, the message names a short reference, for example Reference: 0f3c1a52. Quote it if you write to us.

What a report contains

  • The error, and your note if you add one
  • Your AIUS version, operating system and terminal, or your browser
  • What AIUS recorded while this terminal session or browser tab was open. For example: which requests to AIUS failed, with their reference numbers, and earlier errors in the same session.
A report never contains your files, your conversations with AIUS, or anything from earlier sessions. Before a report leaves your computer, and again on arrival, AIUS removes:
  • email addresses;
  • keys, tokens, passwords and cookies;
  • your home folder’s name.
After sending, AIUS shows a reference such as dia_65c3…. Quote it if you contact us about the problem.

What stays on your computer

  • Terminal: it keeps a small private log of errors in ~/.local/share/opencode/log/aius-diagnostics.jsonl. It is never uploaded on its own.
  • Web app: it keeps errors only while the tab is open.
