The sidebar

  • Organisation switcher: the organisation you are working in. Every account starts in its own personal organisation; switch to any other organisation you belong to here.
  • Projects: the organisation’s projects, with a link to each.
  • Organisation: members, the shared budget and the organisation’s activity.
  • New organisation: create a shared organisation for a team.
  • Account: your profile, security settings and activity. Sign out from the button beside it.

The Projects page

On your first visit, before you have a project, the page explains how AIUS works. The terminal app does the analysis on your computer, next to your data; this website holds the results. Where do I add my data? Nowhere here: keep your files in a folder on your computer and run aius there. Four steps follow: install AIUS (curl -fsSL https://light.aius.co/install.sh | bash; on Windows, inside WSL), run it in the folder with your data, ask in the terminal, and read the report here once AIUS publishes it. The first start links the folder to the project with its name, or creates one. New project creates an empty project by name; type /projects in the terminal to link a folder to it. Each project row shows its reports, any published files and its recorded Work, and has actions to download its published files as a ZIP, fork, rename or delete it. Below the list:
  • Computers lists the computers where aius runs (Your computers). Set up the terminal holds the same four steps.
  • Analysis examples are prompts to copy into the terminal.
  • Recent activity lists the organisation’s latest events, naming the project, report or file each one was about.

A project

A project has three views, Report, Work and Outputs, and a files panel at the right edge. Share link creates a read-only public link to a report (Sharing). The ⋯ menu holds the report exports (Excel workbook, CSV dataset), print, Rename report, and the project’s rename, fork and delete actions.

A new project

A project with no report yet explains, under How AIUS works for this project, how its reports get there. It gives the same answer about your data and the same four steps, naming the project so you know which folder links to it:
  1. Install AIUS, with the install command and a Copy button.
  2. Run it in the folder with your data, with the start command. A folder with the project’s name links to it; from any other folder, type /projects in the terminal and choose it.
  3. Ask in the terminal, in plain words. AIUS reads your files where they are and answers there. When it finds something worth keeping, it publishes a report and gives you the link; it asks before sharing anything else, such as your raw data or a public link.
  4. The report appears here, on the project page, for everyone in the organisation to read, and to share with a link.
Then keep working in the terminal: ask follow-ups there, and AIUS updates the report when the answer changes; each update is a new revision on this page, and earlier revisions stay readable. While aius runs on one of your computers, you can also ask from the page, in the AIUS panel (Working from the browser). Conversations are kept with the project, so you can pick them up on another computer; files stay on the computer they are on. When aius is already open for the project on one of your computers, the page also says where, with a link to ask AIUS from the browser. Once a report is published, the page shows the report instead. Work and Outputs say what will appear there until something is recorded or published.
